Helping men understand their head and do something about it

Through simple tools, real conversations, and support that actually gets used

Most men don’t talk about what’s going on in their head.

Not because they don’t want to, but because they don’t know how.

Things build up.

They stay quiet.

And it gets heavy.

A simple way to understand your head

The L.A.D Project is built around one idea:

Mental Calories

Every task, event or conversation uses some. Some days you have more, some you have less.
Most days you might use them all up, and that’s normal.

Think of it like this:

When your mental calories are low, things feel harder.
Not because you’re failing, but because you’re running low.
When you wake up, ask yourself:
“How many mental calories do I feel like I have today?”

It doesn’t need to be exact, it’s just a way to manage.
Plan your day around your energy, not the other way around.

If you use more juice than you wanted to, stop and reset. You can
recharge your mental calories by training your mind. This isn’t a score,
it’s just a way to understand how your head feels today.

Something you can actually use to help in the moment

Every box of L.A.D Slabs includes an insert with a set of cards that you can keep on you and use when your heads not right.

No overthinking. No pressure.

Just something that helps in the moment.

Real Conversations

The L.A.D Slab Podcast is about saying the things that most men don't usually say.

No filters or pretending. Just real men having honest conversations about what's going on in their heads.

Support Where It's Needed

Some things need more than a card.
That's why 5% of the profits from every box sold is going towards organisations doing incredible work supporting men's mental health.

One of those is Man Down, a charity that played a big role in the start of L.A.D Slab.

This is our way of giving back.

For the L.A.D Slab challenge box, we take it a step further.

A total of 20% of profits from every challenge box sold goes directly to Man Down.

So when you buy a box and take on the challenge, you're not just doing something for yourself, you're helping get real support to men who need it.

You're part of something bigger than just a box of flapjacks.

How It All Fits Together

The flapjacks are what starts the conversation.

The cards help in the moment.

The podcast keeps the conversation going and helps men further understand their head.

The charities are there when more support is needed.

I started this because I know what it’s like to have a lot going on in your head and not say anything. This isn’t about fixing everything. It’s about making it easier to deal with.

This project is here to support and start conversations.

It’s not a replacement for professional help.

If you’re struggling, reaching out to a qualified professional or support service is always the right step.
